Loot Call! - Or Should I Say: I Got Looted...

So... odd title, yeah? Well, I just got something that makes me feel like I was the one that got looted because of how much I had to pay for it. What is it? You wanna see?

Newest Addition to My Hobby Room

I recently purchased an Acrylic Wall Rack for my hobby room to hold my paints. What it is originally meant for is holding bottles of nail polish. However, it's perfectly sized for holding my paints. Vallejo, Army Painter, GW, and P3 all fit in the rack. I don't have them all in there yet, what you see in the picture is just the stuff that was on my work table. I have more in a plastic toolbox that will be nice to get rid of so I'm not always tripping over it. Nit exactly sure how I want to organize it yet. For now I have shades, glazes, and dry paints on top, then metallics on the next level, technical, then layers and bases... trying to put them together in some semblance of grouping by color type. I'll figure it out eventually. Anyway, if you have a dedicated hobby area, you might want to consider this as a means of getting the paints off your work surface and opening up more space for yourself.

Tarantula Size Comparison

Just thought I'd post a size comparison picture of the Hyperios Tarantula for those unfamiliar with it. Here it is next to a Space Marine and an Assault Terminator.

Kickstarter: Alternative Civil War

My Kickstarter addiction continues. This time, a new minis game called Alternative Civil War: 1861. Made by someone in Europe of all places. :) It's being produced by Ghost Train Games. This is their first product.

Loot Call! - Forge World Goodies

My Forge World order arrived today! Before I get to the jump and what I got, I have to say, I am impressed with Forge World's shipping. I have only ordered from them a few times, and the previous times I shelled out the extra fifteen pounds for express shipping. I only did standard shipping this time, but time of order to arriving was a week. Ordered 4/27 arrived 5/5. Color me impressed.

AvP Update 5/2

The most recent update from Prodos on their Kickstarter funded Aliens vs. Predator miniatures game is that the miniatures have gotten approval from 20th Century Fox and are green lighted for production. While they don't say it, this means that things can finally start moving along and hopefully we'll see the game in a few months time. I'm going to guess maybe September.

Assembly Update: Vigilator-Sergeant Hamath Kraatos

This is Vigilator-Sergeant Hamath Kraatos, second in command of the Minotaurs 9th company, Devastator Company. This was the exclusive figure at the recent Forge World event. Snagged one off Ebay for a not outrageous sum. I mounted him on an Ancient Ruins base from Scibor Miniatures. To do so, I had to carefully saw off the outcropping his foot was on. Once that was done, he fit on the base perfect.

Word to the wise though, if you end up getting your hands on one of these: The ammo belt was a major pain the rear to attach. It took much bending and cyanoacrylate to get it to go on correctly and stay. I suppose it's worth it for a Heavy Bolter you can Snipe with, right? :)

Hordes: New Trollblood Character Warbeast

As a Trollblood player, and one that uses Captain Gunnbjorn with Blitzers, having a blitzer character Warbeast just got my geek on. No word on when the actual release date is, it's just listed as "upcoming" on the PP website. SO it should be ut sometime this month. Here's their description:

Outfitted with a crudely rigged bombard salvaged from a Khadoran Destroyer, Dozer is an impossible fusion of nature’s fury and mechanical destruction. From his perch atop Dozer, Smigg operates the wildly inaccurate bombard with surprising effectiveness and is revered as an ace by other pygs. So spectacular are their battlefield rampages that other blitzers are inspired by their example and strive to make every attack count.
