Unboxing: Dreadball Xtreme!

Today I received the Wave 1 shipment of the Dreadball Xtreme Kickstarter. So here's a brief unboxing to show you what came.

 The cover of the box.

The deluxe play mat is inside. It's printed on a neoprene material, much like a mouse pad. I have some misgivings with this, but I will save that for later.

Take the playmat out and here's the contents of the box. As you can see, the counters punched themselves out in transit. They're all there so no worries.

Minis bag 1 of 2

Minis bag 2/2
These ar e the two bags of minis in the box. They are Asterians and Convicts mixed together. Looks like there's an MVP or two in there as well. Haven't opened them yet, so I can't say for sure.

 Yellow and blue base markers.

The rulebook. This was actually packed outside the box.Not in it. Seemed an odd choice, but that may have been due to the playmat. Regular versions of the box set may have a standard "boardgame" style hard board.
Crates and striker pods. The crates play a crucial role in Xtreme as they can explode when you slam someone into them.
Another bag of minis outside the box. This has sponsors and MVPs in it.

Two more sheets of counters loose int he shipping box. There was a plastic bag around the game box, so these may have started their journey in the bag. They just didn't end up there. Fortunately, being loose, the counters stayed in the frames on these.

Number decals... also loose floating around in the shipping box.

A signed print of the cover art. A nice little addition.

And finally, here's the playmat spread out. I said I had some misgivings. Here they are: while the neoprene material is nice, the printing on it suffers the same fate a lot of printing on such material suffers from. Namely that it isn't as sharp and crisp as it could be. Also, as you can see in the picture, having been folded, it bunches up.I have some heavy game boxes sitting on it to try to flatten it out.The very middle where all the creases converge is the worst. It dimples up. Hopefully it'll flatten out, if not I'll have to go online and see what can be done to relax the material.

Otherwise, I am glad to get my initial wave shipment just before Christmas. They say the next wave should be ready before the end of January. More minis on their way!
