WiP: Knight Castigator Complete!

Just a quick update to say I'M DONE!!! I have only been able to put in an hour here and there, sometimes going weeks without working on it due to family and life obligations, but after 9 months I am done! My first Knight of House Terryn takes the field! Astute readers may remember that I do have two other Knights already, but they're the Freeblades Amaranthine and Gerantius. My next Knight will be a Crusader for Terryn.

Budget Light Box Setup

By budget I don't mean free or nearly so. Rather, as I was looking into getting a light box set up, most self contained units or all in one deals ran about $100. Finally I looked into separate parts and I managed to get a light box set up for only $40.

WiP: House Terryn Castigator

Just a quick update on progress. Had a week off work and got a significant amount of work done on my Castigator. Still have a way to go, and need to figure out a paint scheme for the Wave Serpent. More decals, etc. Happy with where it's going so far.

Testing 32mm Base Adapters, Part 2

After using all of my base adapters from Secret Weapon (It was in the first part of testing the adapters), I bought some from another company called Eccentric Miniatures to test them out as well.

Thoughts on Age of Sigmar

I wanted to jot down some of my thought on Age of Sigmar. In case you've been living under a rock, Age of Sigmar is Games Workshop's new Fantasy game. It is replacing Warhammer Fantasy Battles and is essentially an extension of The End Times they recently did. It is not -- I repeat NOT -- Warhammer fantasy 9th Edition. This is a whole new beast. SO here's my deep thoughts on it.

So just a little update on stuff I'm working on. And if your mind is in the gutter when I said stripping, STAHP! You really wouldn't want me to do that. Srsly.

Testing out 32mm Base Adapters

Ever since Games Workship began releasing newer models on the bigger 32mm bases, several companies have stepped up and began making adapters to increase the base size of existing models. Today I received my order from Secret Weapon Miniatures and I tried them out.

Fast Food to the Rescue?

If you've been to a Kentucky Fried Chicken lately, you probably know that they have been packaging the individual size sides in these little reusable containers. I bet most of you just throw them out, yeah? A handy little bitz storage container. Most importantly, if you have lots of little fiddly bits magnetized for models, these are a great size to store them in to take to games. My Space Marine Captain had a magnetized bolt pistol hand that ended up lost after the first game I used him in. So don't throw away those containers!

40K Mysterious Objective Markers

This is my second set of markers for use during 40K games. Specifically, they are to place near objectives to let you know which Mysterious Objective they are.

So it looks like some people have laid out the money to buy the big bundle with the exclusive formation from GW. And they were nice enough to scan the Formation in.

40K Status Markers

I have created a set of markers for use during 40K games. These are in 1-inch circles. What I plan on doign is using a 1-inch circle craft cutter to cut them out, then stick them to epoxy bottle cap stickers that are used for scrapbooking. If you are interested in using these yourself, you can get the file at my public Dropbox. Also, you can get the epoxy caps at Amazon.com. You can get 1-inch circle cutters at any craft store.

Some Thoughts on the New Knights Codex

So by now you've probably seen the leaked images from the new codex. It gives a lot of good stuff, but also leaves some questions. I want to address some of these and also give some thoughts on build ideas I had.
