Loot Call!: Bits and bits and... Dust

More things arriving in the mail! This time it's a bunch of bits. Normally I'm not much for converting minis, but it's starting to grind on me that certain things aren't available that my Dark Elf and Skaven army books allow for. So here's a look at what I got.

Here's the collection of various bits I've gotten off Ebay.

From left to right, top to bottom.
  • 2 Dark Steeds: These are from the Dark Elf chariot box. This is significant since the Dark Rider/Warlock box has the legs molded onto the horse's body which seems to be all the rage now. At least for Dark Elf minis. The Lord on Cold One is the same way. It's like they don't want us to be able to make conversions.
  • Bag o' Vargheist bits: Got these specifically for the Wings. These will be used in conjunction with the Dark Steeds to make a Dark Pegasus. There's some other spiky bits in there that can be used as well.
  • Skaven Warplightning Cannon frame and platforms: To be used to build a War Litter for a Skaven Warlord.
  • Sorceress and Dread Lord from the Black Dragon kit: To be assembled to be used on Dark Pegasus, Dark Steed, or Manticore, or whatever else they can be mounted on.
  • Not pictured: Blades from the Cauldron of Blood: To be added to the War Litter.
So those are the projects I will be looking forward to doing in the near future after my tourney painting is done. I have some scenery stuff on order from Scibor (which will be seen in a future Loot Call when they come in) which will help in giving the Pegasus some height.

Miniature Market had the Dust Revised Core Set on their daily deal for a steal so I picked it up. It's yet another one of those things I've had my eye on for a while but haven't gotten around to picking up (I'm hoping X-Wing goes on a daily deal so I can scratch that one off my list :p ). I know it's Tactics and not Warfare, but they use the same minis so it's good for either one which is cool and works nice for a board game night when you can't get enough folks together for the RPG session.

It may not be widely known, but Fantasy Flight Games isn't licensed to do any more stuff for Dust. The Tactics and Warfare lines have gone to Battlefront Miniatures which produces the Flames of War game (another one I've had my eye on). The nice thing is that means current stock is on clearance, so I can stock up on all the Nazi zombies I want! :)
