Spartan Games has some more goodies for us. A new 2-player starter set and a whole new game system.
The new 2-player set is Codename: Iron Scorpion for their Dystopian Legions game. Dystopian Legions is the 32mm ground based troop level game set in the greater Dystopian Wars universe. The box set contains forces from The Covenant of Antarctica and the Republique of France. Believe it or not, the French don't just surrender and collaborate! (I know, it's a cheap shot, but those jokes never get old) The set also includes modular MDF scenery pieces.
Codename: Iron Scorpion is available for order now from Spartan Games or from retailers in your home country. Also remember, Spartan Games has free shipping world wide on orders over £100 and this set is £90, so just a little more nets you free shipping.
The next new set from Soartan is the highly anticipated Planetfall:
Planetfall is a 10mm ground based game from the Firestorm Armada universe. So where Firestorm Armada is all about space fleet battles, this is all about what happens when they get to the ground. Battle for Proteus Prime is the 2-player starter set and includes the forces of Aquan Prime and The Directorate. At launch they are also releasing two allied groups: The Terraquai and Works Raptor. Also a scenery set. The box set costs £80, so again, that plus a little more (like, say, a £20 allied group) nets you free shipping.
I have the box sets for Dystopian Wars and Firestorm Armada, although I haven't had a chance to play either yet. The rules for the systems look fun. They're all based around an exploding D6 system, although things work slightly differently between Firestorm and Dystopian, so I assume the rules for these two games will also be slightly different.
